| | Do you believe going to temple is like going to heaven? This temple is on a mountain in Nakhon Sawan. And Nakhon Sawan literary means heavenly city. ;) Wat Pa Siriwatanavisut is a temple under the patronage of the late Princess Galyani. There is a replica of Mahabodhi temple at the top of the mountain. |
I took this video at the aquarium in Nakhon Sawan. Everybody enjoyed the underwater tunnel and no one warned me when we reached the end of the conveyor so I stumbled. Fortunately I didn't fell nor break my camera. P1000836.flv (4.3 MB)
| | Nakhon Sawan is a city in Central Thailand. It's the beginning of Chao Phraya River. This boat-shaped freshwater aquarium has been opened last December. We went there on June 8, 2008. |
| | There was a classic cars exhibition at Seacon Square shopping mall last week. I went there with my sister and my nephew. In the end we had dinner at a Chinese restaurant. |
| | My family and I went to Wat Lamphaya Floating Market again. But this time we cruised along Tha Chin River from Wat Lamphaya to Wat Bang Pla and got back to shopping at the floating market. The lady in pink is my aunt. We found a little sunflower garden on the way back from her house so we stopped by to take some photos. :)

| | Khon Kaen was a home to Dinosaurs about 130 million years ago. My family and I visited Dinosaur Park and Dinosaur Museum on the last day of our trip. It was fun posing with those sculptures. ;)) |
| | Does anybody remember I was absent from Multiply at the beginning of this month? Never mind I have some photos to show what I did at that time. ;)
It was my brother-in-law's mother birthday on April 6. I call her 'yaa' or grandma like my nephew. Yaa lives in Khon Kaen, a province in Northeastern Thailand. That was my first time visited this province. It took about 6 hours from Bangkok by a VIP coach.
Yaa didn't have a birthday party but a making merit ceremony in the morning. We invited monks to the house and offered food to them. There was a special dish bullfrog soup which I never dare to try. :P
After the ceremony, yaa tied holy thread on our wrists for good luck and gave us pillows and silk which she made by herself.
After all of that, my brother-in-law's niece who used to stay with us in bangkok took me and my nephew to look around the village. Her old school nearby has lots of animal figures made by a janitor.

| | The last set of my photos from Chiang Rai. We visited Wat Bhumiparam, Wat Nang Lae Nai and Nang Lae Nai Waterfall. |
| | This garden is on Doi Chang Moop. It is a part of Doi Tung development project initiated by the late Princess Mother. We went there to see poppies and rhododendrons. |
| | The Doi Tung Royal Villa was a residence of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindara, The King's mother. It is 1800 meters high, located on the border to Myanmar. We went there on Feb 5, 2008. My mom was tired from walking up the hilly area so she just waited outside while my sister and I explored the villa and the garden. |
| | My mom, my sister and I went to Chiang Rai on February 4-6, 2008. On the first day, we visited our tiny peice of land in Mae Suai then had lunch at Suan Jarin Resort. After that we stopped by at Wat Rong Khun. In the evening we had dinner at Chiang Rai Beach, Mae Kok River.
End of day one. :))

You can find this elegant public toilet at Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai province, Northern Thailand. Please click at the picture for a better view.
| | My sister had a meeting at Arunvit Resort, Saraburi last Saturday. My mom and I also went there to be her companions. |
| | Sanam Chandra Palace in Nakhon Pathom celebrated its centennial from November 23 to December 2. There were cultural performances, parades, an exhibition on boy scouts in Thailand and activities associated with King Rama VI and the current monarch.
I went there last Sunday with my sister. There were LOTS of people so we couldn't take many photos. Hope we can visit the palace again soon. It's not far from Bangkok.

| | Both of my sisters and I went to visit an old friend in Lopburi on Loy Krathong day. There was a fair nearby so we decided to have a peek. The organizer claimed that it was a Japanese fun fair but it was not sooooo Japanese as we expected. Anyway, we still enjoyed posing....hahahahaha..........
P.S. The weather was not cold. We used those jackets to protect our skin from the super strong sun. :P

| | There was nothing much on our last day in Japan. Our nephew asked us to bring some nice 'bento' home so Junko's dad and Shigeko took us to Ginza to find which one we could bring back to Thailand. Most bento were fresh and expired on the same day but we found what we could buy finally.
After the mission, Junko's dad and Shigeko took us to Tokyo Tower to take some photos, then took us to the limousine bus terminal to transfer to the airport.
This trip was fabulous. Hope I'll have a chance to visit Japan again. And thanks the Yoshiokas for their wonderful hospitalities. :)))

| | On the second day in Hakone, we didn't go to any specific place - just wandered around with many transportations. We began with a local bus, then a cruise, a ropeway, a cablecar and a train. Finally we took a shinkansen back to the Tokyo station where Junko's dad and her sister, Shigeko, waited to take us home.
|
| | On Oct28th, my sister and I went to Hokone by shinkansen (Japanese bullet train) and visited the Museum of Saint-Exupéry and the Little Prince. This museum was lovely. You can see it's website here http://www.tbs.co.jp/l-prince/en/

| | On Oct26th, the trip with Toyota finished and my own trip began. My sister, Kot, arrived the hotel around 10am but we had to wait for my friend, Hiroko, so we looked around near the hotel while waiting. Then Hiroko came and took us to Asakusa Kannon Temple but it was raining so I could take not many photos. Later we went to meet another friend, Junko, and had dinner together. After that, Junko's dad came and took us to the hotel to pick up our luggages. We stayed with Junko's family for 3 nights.
The next day, we wanted to see the big Buddha statue at Kamakura but it rained a lot because of typhoon so we changed to visit the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno in stead. Before the visit, Junko's dad took us to a sushi restaurant.
In the evening, Junko's family took us to a local restaurant near their house. I can't remember the food name but it was yummy. :P
|
| | On Oct25th, we had free time for a few hours in the afternoon but I didn't know where to go so I asked another journalist to see the hotel's garden. |
